In 2001, bassist/composer Bill Noertker formed his own group, Noertker's Moxie, as a forum for his thematic compositions. Since then he has been composing and performing suites of music inspired by visual artists such as Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró, architect Antoni Gaudí, poet Rainer Maria Rilke, sculptor David Beck, and others.
Noertker has composed over 150 pieces of music for this group and has released eight CDs, including three CDs of his extended suite Sketches of Catalonia, and two volumes of his extended Blue Rider Suite. He has also composed music for three films that showcase the intimately-scaled sculptures of David Beck, and composed the score for a Nikos Koumoundouros film, The Commandments or the Nostril of Ektor Kaknavatos, that was selected for the prestigious Festival de Cannes 2010 - Short Film Corner.

Blue Lotus plays compositions and improvisations based on African, Indian and Jazz rhythms.
Due to his in-depth study of the music of different cultures, Alex Jenkins' playing transcends musical traditions and boundaries. His expression of rhythm is heavily influenced by his study of Tabla. As a result, Alex has become known for his creative approach to music and his unique ability to fuse rhythmic ideas from various disciplines, into one cohesive performance.
Dr. Dyne Eifertsen is a performer, educator, clinician, and composer. He has earned music performance degrees in trombone from Berklee College of Music in Boston, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the University of Washington in Seattle. Dyne is freelance musician, Department Chair and the Director of the Jazz Studies program at American River College in Sacramento where he conducts several jazz combos along with the ARC Latin and Studio Jazz Ensembles.
Parteek Bansal began learning tabla at a young age as his local New Jersey Gurdwara under Bhai Harbhajan Singh Ji and Bhai Binod Singh Ji. After years of learning and accompanying in kirtan, he continued to supplement his education and training under Pandit K. Paramjyoti, a disciple of Ustad Amir Hussain Khan of Farrukhabad Gharana. In 2003 he continued learning with Sajjad Chowdhry, senior student of Ustad Shabbir Nisar of Purab Gharana (which refers to both Lucknow and Farrukhabad Gharana). In subsequent years, he attended workshops with Ustad Zakir Hussain and continues to perform and collaborate with great musicians in the Sacramento area.
