San Jose Music & Nightlife - Gay Bars

San Jose's has a tenacious dedication to holding it's own in the gay world. San Francisco has always had the glitz and glam of the gay dance club scene, with imported dancers running through costume changes every half-hour and showing off freshly choreographed moves every night. San Jose has a more intimate setting, a more domestic atmosphere, so to speak. By virtue of being a smaller big-city, San Jose offers an adequate mix of gay-friendly establishments that feel more like local bars than Studio 54. Make no mistake about it, the bars around here offer fantastic music, beautiful bartenders and naughty drinks, but San Jose doesn't really have a scene that necessitates dressing up in your finest attire. Instead, the calmer atmosphere around here arouses notions of drinks after a long day, of throwing on jeans and heading to the joint down the street or of buying a round for the bar.
