Description

It wasn’t long after the term “near-death experience” was coined that these remarkable life-changing events were challenged by skeptics who presented wide-ranging alternative explanations.

But do their arguments hold up? This month we’ll present a video recording of Dr. Bruce Greyson’s memorable speech at the 2006 IANDS Conference.

In this hour-long address, Dr. Greyson puts virtually every proposed alternative explanation of near-death experiences under the microscope.

Is the NDE a result of individual psychological conditions like depersonalization? Are they fantasies? Are they caused by hypoxia or hypercarbia? Are they biochemical? Or caused by REM intrusion? Are out-of-body experiences simply illusions?

No one is more qualified to analyze these theories than Dr. Greyson. A founding member of IANDS, Dr. Greyson served as editor of the Journal of Near-Death Studies for more than 20 years.

His research for the past three decades has focused on the aftereffects of near-death experiences and has resulted in more than 70 presentations to national scientific conferences, and more than 100 publications in academic, medical, and psychological journals. He is currently a psychiatry professor and Director, University of Virginia Health System.

Join us for the most informative and fascinating examination of NDE’s you’ve ever seen….and we’ll bring the popcorn!

You are encouraged to bring refreshments to share!
