Nancy Nowacek's "In Space" - Exhibition

Description

Nancy Nowacek presents her newest interactive art installation at San Jose State University's School of Art and Design, entitled In Space. In this exhibition, developed in conjunction with the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial, Nancy Nowacek has materially modified the floor of the Natalie and James Thompson Art Gallery, turning it into a variegated geography that represents the unique characteristics of Silicon Valley. The exhibit transposes the legendary abstract qualities often ascribed to Silicon Valley, from intense competition to rugged individualism to dogged genius, and viewers will be confronted by a slippery and unsure terrain as they move through the work.
