Bay Area Latin jazz legend Pete Escovedo is returning to San Jose for the second and final installment of this summer's Music in the Park series. Escovedo has played Music in the Park 18 times--more than any other artist. After touring with Santana for three years, Escovedo earned his place in Latin music history as the founder of Azteca, a band that truly defined the style of contemporary Latin jazz. Escovedo has gained significant attention for his fast-paced, polyrhythmic timbale playing, setting the bar for an already percussion-heavy genre. His gigantic backing band delivers impressive Latin jazz with significant flair.
