Enjoy the full range of San Jose Jazz's eclectic offerings at Music at the Market. Blues, jazz, folk, R&B, world, indie and more will be showcased every Friday at 7PM at the must-see San Pedro Square Market in downtown San Jose. Check out the schedule of artists below:

July 26: Ron Scott

San Jose's own Ron Scott started as a self-taught musician and continues to play by ear. His electrifying style incorporates Latin rhythms with R&B and modern jazz stylings. He's released three albums, including his most recent solo offering, Ron Scott in the Keys of Love.

August 2: Orquesta Saboricua

Orquesta Saboricua is an all-star group of the Bay Area's best salsa musicians. Founder Mike Ramos on keyboards, Tony Acevedo on vocals, Julio Colon on trombone, Steve Marshall on saxophone and flute, Jose Santiago on bongo, and Ali Choco Luna on conga. These artists have been making magic since they were young, and this is a performance you won't want to miss!

August 9: Dara Tucker

Dara Tucker's music features soulful undertones meant to convey her optimistic, yet thoughtful, approach to life and music. Raised in a musical family, Tucker started singing at church at the age of 5 and hasn't stopped dazzling audiences since then. You won't want to miss this Nashville native's appearance in San Jose.

August 16: Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic

Andre Thierry formed "Zydeco Magic" when he was twelve and has since performed with legends like the late John Delafose and a whole range of local Zydeco and Cajun bands. Thierry, a multi instrumentalist, sings songs in both English and Creole French, and he is an incredibly gifted composer and sing-writer. The West Coast Blues Hall of Fame presented him and Zydeco MAgic and award for "Best Zydeco Group" in 2008.

August 23: Bautista Band

The Bautista Band boasts influences from samba rock to jazz fusion, with funk filling in the gaps. This band, which as performed at AT&T Park, the North Beach Festival, the Fillmore Jazz Festival, and elsewhere is sure to get you moving.

September 6: Brian Andres and the Afro Cuban Jazz Cartel

Brian Andres is a San Francisco-based jazz drummer who has worked with world class musicians and toured around the country. With the Afro Cuban Jazz Cartel, Andres puts the sounds and stylings of the San Francisco Bay Area on display.

September 13: Black Sunday Roadshow

Black Sunday Roadshow celebrates what Americana music used to be. They blend hot jazz, gospel, blues, zydeco, bluegrass, country, and folk to tell a story of America's history and its people. The 16 piece ensemble weaves electrifying sounds unlike any big band you've heard before.

September 20: Isaiah Pickett

Isaiah Pickett is a promising young musician from San Jose. The jazz vocalist and guitarist will get you moving and impress you with his considerable talent. Pickett's a rising star you won't want to miss.

September 27: Henry Clement & The Gumbo Band

Henry Clement—aka the "Swamp Doctah"—has performed with the greatest legends in blues and jazz, from B.B. King to Ray Charles. Clement and the Gumbo Band bring the sounds of Louisiana to the Bay Area, having performed at festivals throughout the region.

Since 1986, San Jose Jazz serves San Jose, CA and the Silicon Valley, one of the most richly diverse and rapidly growing regions in the U.S.

San Jose Jazz, renowned for producing one of the finest jazz festivals in the U.S. which drew over 100,000 in 2008, also produces a variety of other jazz concert series as well as numerous jazz concerts and events.
