Max, Andris, and Amber met at USC where they all studied jazz performance. After touring together as a horn section in 2011, they began co-writing and recording their first album “Be Free”, which they released in April 2012. They are set to release their sophomore record in early 2014.

Since their debut album’s release, Moonchild has received high praise from artists such as Jill Scott, Tyler the Creator, DJ Jazzy Jeff, 9th Wonder, James Poyser, and music legend Stevie Wonder, who after hearing the album invited them to perform at his annual House Full of Toys Benefit Concert at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. They are currently distributed at record stores around the US and Japan, and have received airplay on BBC Radio 6 with Gilles Peterson, KCRW, and on Los Angeles’ own 102.3. Moonchild continues to perform live in anticipation of their 2014 record release.
