San Francisco's funkiest live act, Mission Players, return to North Beach for a very special show at Mojito on Saturday, July 12th. It's sure to be filled with the ultimate funk, blues, rock, jazz and soul. Come on down for some super tasty cocktails and shake it on the dance floor all night long!Grown out of jam sessions in San Francisco's Mission District, Mission Players found their core group in early 2001, consisting of: Mike Mulqueen (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Greg Garvey (Bass), Jason Movrich (Guitar/Vocals), Erik Mekkelson (Sax) and Jessie Hiller (Drums). The band's songs reflect the deep-rooted music of the 70's soul and funk and are heavily flavored with influences from Steveie Wonder, James Brown and The Meters. "Our ultimate goal is to produce a high energy live show that maks people need to shake their feet on the dance floor" Mike Mulqueen.
Their latest CD release, "Get Back Soul" explores the band's true funk and soul roots.
