Mission Chamber Orchestra

The season begins Sept. 26 with a Brazilian twist

FOR ITS first concert of the fall season, Mission Chamber Orchestra welcomes Brazilian pianist and composer Marcelo Cesena to town. The acclaimed globe-trotting soloist will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concert no. 1 along with his own new arrangement of Parisch’s suite for piano and orchestra, Mosaicos. Also on the program are works by Mendelssohn (The Hebrides Overture), Ewazen (Chamber Symphony) and Villa-Lobos (Bachianas Brasileiras no. 9). The Saratoga High School strings will participate, and Emily Ray does the honors at the podium.
