The spiritual path unfolds in regular stages of development, which are carefully mapped out in Buddhist teachings. Buddhist writer Betty Cook will briefly describe this path and suggest readings and practices that build a solid foundation of understanding.*About the Path of Liberation lecture series
Dynamic and alive, the lineage of the Buddha's teachings has the power to make our lives rich and rewarding. For close to forty years the Nyingma Institute has brought these teachings to students in the Bay Area and throughout the world.
From November through December this special lecture series will demonstrate the value of these teachings to the modern world and explore how they can be activated and applied.
*About the Tibetan Nyingma Institute
The Nyingma Institute overlooks the San Francisco Bay from a hillside just north of the University of California campus. Painted a vivid yellow, the three-story buildings have been said to resemble a Tibetan monastery. Climbing the staircase, you enter brightly colored rooms where you can sip a cup of tea, explore the many treasures of a small bookstore, or simply relax and enjoy the beauty of the sweeping views.
