Description

Outside in the Sculpture Garden and Café at the de Young in Golden Gate Park (If inclement weather inside the de Young at Wilsey Court)

Drummer Scott Amendola's diverse experience and fluid ability to both compose and improvise in any number of musical styles and genres is what local writer Derk Richardson comments upon when he says "If he didn't exist, the San Francisco music scene would have to invent him." Amendola teams up with guitarist Ross Hammond in a stripped down duo exploring territory that is part jazz, part rock, and part electronics.

Ross Hammond - guitar
Scott Amendola - drums, electronics

Amendola is "a jazz musician with an investment in the imperatives of groove...when rock, bebop and Afrobeat take turns surfacing in his music, they do so in a way that feels loose and unforced." - Nate Chinen, The New York Times
