SambaDa brings hypbrid musical sounds informed by samba-reggae, sruf-rock, California funk and bloco afro, a version of Afro-Brazilian percussion music. Founded by Papiba Godinho, the band first emerged from a Brazilian dance group. Hailing from Brazil, Godinho is featured on lead vocals, guitar, cavaco and percussion. Joining him on lead vocals and percussion, and also dance is Dandha Da Hora who grew up in Salvador. Anne Stafford joins them on saxophone, flute, clarinet, percussion and vocals, along with Kevin Dorn on bass and percussion Gary Kehoe on drumset and percussion, Will Kahn on electric guitar and MPC, Marcel Menard and Wagner Santos Profeta on percussion and vocals and Marcio Peeter on percussion.
