Description
It’s a good week to be a country music fan in the Bay Area. First Jo Dee Messina comes to the Saddle Rack in Fremont, then country pop rockers Lonestar take the stage at the Rodeo Club in San Jose for a “Listener Appreciation Show” hosted by KRTY-FM. Though they’ve been a little hard to find the past couple of years, Lonestar shot to the top of the adult contemporary and country charts back in 1999 with “Amazed,” an awe-filled ode to one’s partner. Lonestar followed up on their success on the pop charts with “I’m Already There” in 2001, but continued to build a steady stream of country singles—27 in all, with nine of those reaching the No. 1 spot. Though Cody Collins recently replaced former lead vocalist Richie McDonald, the group is working on a comeback, releasing My Christmas List last fall, and currently on tour promoting “Let Me Love You,” the first single from their upcoming album, The Future, available Sept. 23.
