Not to be confused with the psychedelic metal band of the same name, Morgan Hill’s Less Than Three is an alias for Sleepwell’s Jonathan Borgia. The emo-rocker takes acoustic respite for his solo side-project, showcasing considerable songwriting prowess and well-honed vocal abilities. In some ways, there’s something more effective and raw about hearing teenage melancholy through a far less complicated vehicle than the full-size rock band, and Borgia’s ability to strike at the pulse of high-school life in all its complexities is quite poignant, even poetic.
