Forrest Lesch-Middelton is a potter who creates simple forms. He tries to create ease and comfort through economy of form, inspiring thoughts of simpler times. Quiet details evoke patterns beneath a pond’s reflection, or grass covering an unturned stone. “Clay can be subtle or loud, soft or abrasive, brittle or strong,” he says. “There is an honesty rooted within the material.” He holds an MFA from Utah State University.
