Natasha Leggero is an actress and comedian who can be seen regularly on E!'s top rated show Chelsea Lately is headlining a very funny benefit event for the PACE Clinic, which provides HIV/AIDS treatment to uninsured patients in Santa Clara County. She is an accomplished stand up with appearances on The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, The Late Late Show w/ Craig Ferguson, Last Call w/ Carson Daly and a Comedy Central special which premiered in March 2011. Also starring is California's own Jimmy Ouyang is a Chinese American stand-up comedian best known for his sharp observations and his confident swagger on stage. Before the comedians take the stage, Sasha Stephane (Cher impersonator) will dazzle in a Vegas-esque show. The Ira Greene PACE Clinic (Partners in AIDS Care & Education) provides patients in all stages of HIV infection with state-of-the-art primary care in a friendly and compassionate environment. The Clinic stresses a holistic approach that includes a comprehensive range of on-site services, from clinical treatment to nutrition and psychotherapy.
The PACE Clinic helps patients to cope with the real-life challenges of dealing with the disease through:
- Helping patients to successfully follow intricate medications regimens
- Providing women and their children access to medical care at the same doctor's visit
- Ensuring appropriate medical treatment to prevent or delay the progression of diseases that result from HIV infection
- Extending services to South County to enhance access
The PACE Clinic will use funds raised to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS with a special prevention and outreach effort in 2012. The PACE Clinic relies on government funding and grants that must be used for critical client services, leaving little extra money for education. As an article in the San Jose Mercury News recently pointed out, prevention and outreach are critical in Santa Clara County.
