Description
Laila Smith and the Usual Suspects performs an intimate concert of smooth jazz music at the Lobby Lounge of San Jose Fairmont Hotel. Ms. Smith is a high school junior and alumna of San Jose Jazz's education programs. Despite her young age, she has achieved more than most musicians have achieved in a lifetime. In just a few short years, she has showcased her unusually strong yet warm vocals across the world in countries like Russia, Finland and Estonia. She has won 4 Downbeat Awards for junior high jazz vocal soloist, and her original compositions have been recognized in 2010 and 2012 with ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards and at the 2011 Jazz Education Network's Composers Showcase in New Orleans.
