Kimya Dawson first became well-known as the female counterpart to Adam Green in The Moldy Peaches. Dawson then released three solo albums after The Moldy Peaches split up in 2004, and has recently garnered increased national attention through her work on the soundtrack for the hit movie "Juno". Ellen Page, the film's lead actress, felt that her character would be a fan of The Moldy Peaches, and suggested the inclusion of Dawson's music in the film. Dawson contributed twelve songs to the film, eight of which appear on the official soundtrack, which has hit #1 on the Billboard charts. The film, which ends with Page and co-star Michael Cera singing one of Dawson's songs, was nominated for 4 Oscars and won for Best Original Screenplay.
