Great traditional Vietnamese dishes & live lobsters & crabs cook with our special Kien Giang sauce. Our restaurant has been rated by San Jose Mecury News with 3.5 stars & got a good review from the Metro Newspaper. Kien Giang Restaurant is well knowned in theVietnamese comnunity for the past 20yrs since we opened the first location in downtown on Santa Clara & 7th St. We needed a bigger place & moved to a new location at Quimby & Tully. Then a second restaurant was added on Monterey Road.  After so many years in the restaurants business, we didn't have time for family or vacation and we have sold both restaurants & took a long long break. 
With an opportunity to open a restaurant in San Jose again,  we jumped in to re-start it all over again.We had remodeled this location to bring it up-to-date with a simple, elegant & modern look with an Asian flare. We brought back many of the same dishes that was a big hit for us. Many of our long time customers are very happy that we have open again because they missed our food very much & didn't really find another restaurant that cook with the same taste as we did. For example, the giant prawns w/noodle was everyones' favorite & it was our very own original creation.  Then there is the juicy  & tender steak w/fried tomato rice that our customers love to eat again and again.  We serve individual dishes & family style menu all day ranging from combination soup noodle, Thai & Chinese fried rice, chow mein to lobster & crab with the house sauce, a la carte, & tamarind soup with catfish or seafood & steamed whole striped bass with fresh vegetables, & seasonal dishes changes frequently. Our menu has many good dishes that I'm sure you'll find something to try.
