Description
Gallery owner and sculptor Ken Matsumoto presents a series of new exhibits at ArtObjectGallery in the heart of Japantown San Jose with an art opening celebrating the end of ArtObjectGallery's hiatus."3 Painters" is an exhibit of landscape painter Sukey Bryan's work depicting the various states of water in every form. From flowing waterfalls and rain to silently falling snow and the stillness of ice, each piece demonstrates her amazing technique, sense of color, and "fidelity of rendering combine to create works that move between the representational and abstract."
Mila Libman also explores the subject of water with large works on paper. She provides water from a higher viewpoint with the reflection of the sky across the "undulated surface of a Sierra Nevada lake.
Tim Ryan's landscape people describe change and "accidental" nature of the dynamic physical environment. His works are "physical but also delicate as colors peek from behind one another and lay over what went on before."
The exhibits will run from May 12 to June 20.
