Description
Woodwind devotee Johnny Almond has collaborated with everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Jean Luc-Ponty. Ably inhabiting the fertile ground between rock and jazz since the late 1960’s, he’s stealthily made a name for himself with explosive solos and multiphonic accompaniment in the vein of Yusef Lateef and Rahsaan Roland-Kirk. Although best known for his work with John Mayall, Alan Price and an early progressive rock outfit featuring John Mark, he has gained more recent notoriety with a jazz-funk combo appropriately dubbed the Johnny Almond Music Machine.
