Description
For nearly 7 consecutive years the Community School of Music and Art (CSMA) in Mountain View has held monthly jazz jams that has attracted many many fine musicians from the Bay Area. It is a great place for not only playing with some great players but also for meeting and networking with other musicians. Many people in the past met at CSMA for the first time and have gone on to do gigs together or form groups.The Jam is open to all players and vocalists ranging in experience from professional to intermediate levels and of all ages. On the average, a typical CSMA Jammer is one who has had several years of playing experience on gigs or at other jams and is comfortable playing tunes from the Real Book, either from memory or sight reading the chart at the jam. In addition, if there is sufficient demand, we will organize a coached session for emerging players.
