| Description As Disney continues its onslaught of manufactured teen superstars, it’s refreshing to think two decades after the release of their Grammy Award-winning debut, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are still around creating thoughtful, politically charged music. The folk duo met mainstream success in the late ’80s and early ’90s with songs like “Closer to Fine.” With 10 studio releases under their belts, their record label dumped them in 2007 following the release of Despite our Differences. Opting to take the indie route, the Indigo Girls are touring to support Poseidon and the Bitter Bug, their first album recorded on their own label. |
