Alex Cox's valentine to the Blank Generation's Ricky & Lucy is a grimy, fantastical unraveling of musical and romantic entities in a wit and style onto itself. Webb and Oldman, in the most natural of performances, evoke both cartoon and realism in their interpretation of the title characters. Shot by the extraordinary Roger Deakins, the look and feel of Sid and Nancy is owed a great debt to his cinematic flourishes.
