Hunt for Alakazam & Alchemy

MAGIC DUO VISITS DOWNTOWN WILLOW GLEN IN OCTOBER

Starting October 3rd until October 30th, there will be paw prints and feathers and the kids that hunt for them in downtown Willow Glen. Alakazam (a magical cat) and Alchemy (her bird traveling companion) have decided to make Willow Glen their home for October.

Sponsored by the Willow Glen Business Association (WGBA), visitors can pick up a free sightings journal and stroll up and down Lincoln Ave. to record their finds, collect a ticket from each participating business and earn a “Badge of Honor.”

The Willow Glen Branch of the SJ Library is also taking part in the fun with Alakazam & Alchemy. Forms will be provided for kids to draw a portrait of the pair, write a story about their adventures and design a house that could be built for their return visit next year. The Children’s Reading Room will have special decorations and many of the drawings or stories will be put on display throughout October. All submissions will ultimately be placed in the special Willow Glen Book of Lore for safekeeping.

Additionally, those children who show a librarian a story or drawing will receive a certificate good for a single topping personal pizza (with any purchase) generously donated by Round Table Pizza Willow Glen, redeemable at 1175 Lincoln Ave.
