Looking for more feisty and creative literary events while you wait for Litquake 2008? Litquake and the San Francisco Public Library are joining forces in 2008 to host a bi-monthly series of events in branches throughout the city as a lead up to the big temblor, scheduled this year for October 3-11, 2008.The next event, “Historical Fiction Now,” shakes the ground between past and present on Wednesday, July 16, at the Mission Bay branch library. Anita Amirrezvani (author of The Blood of Flowers), Janis Cooke Newman (author of Mary), and Nick Taylor (author of The Disagreement) will read from their books and discuss the challenges and rewards of writing historical fiction.
