Two other agreements commonly used when playing a C major.

F and G. Play a basic F this way:
The notes in a chord are F F, A and C. Note that F and C are performed by the same finger, the index finger is placed in the first band of the first AND the second rope.

Typically, agreements are constructed so that the lowest note is the root of the agreement, https://www.zotero.org/heath_berkowitz heath berkowitz but in this case, F is played on the first fret of the 1st string. It's called inversion.

2
Stretch the agreement F. You can have the F at the base by playing F on the D string: 3rd fret played with your finger. You may notice that the rope does not sound very different, just more full.

Play them all at the same time. Now that you know the three basic chords in the key of C, play them together and you might recognize a billion popular songs. Squeeze the C four times, followed by F, twice, more G twice and return to C.

Note that after each agreement there is a Roman numeral. http://my.unitedwaydallas.org/page/event/detail/wgh heath berkowitz The latter indicates which position the note is placed on the root-end, irrespective of the fingers. 7
Play the major chord A. This is another grand bargain, at listening. There are several ways to play. You can use a finger on the second fret strings B, G and D (playing C #, A and E, respectively) or any other combination of fingers. For this example, we will use the little finger on the B string, ring finger on the G string and the middle finger on the string D.

When you improve your playing, you will understand that quickly move from one chord to the other causes of finger positions rather strange that work just as well. The trick is to use your fingers as efficiently as possible, and once you have passed the stage of training, do not be afraid to experiment.

Play the major chord B. You can play this one the easy way or the hard way. http://freedomfederation.org/events/details/366 heath berkowitz The easiest way is shown with the black. You can add an additional note, as shown with gray numbers.

Try to vary your way to scrape Also: do not stay glued to the lines on the paper.

10
Learn the key of A. You are already two thirds of the way! A key is to play A in the first position (I), D fourth (IV) and our good old E dominant, fifth (V). Here's how to play the chord D:
Note the index on the first three strings: this is the beginning of a strikethrough agreement. Complete agreement barred uses a finger on all the strings and is often based on basic shapes shown in this article.

11
Learn an alternative version of the Agreement A. It is useful when it is played with the chords D and E:

12
Try it. Here's another song to try your new agreements:
Now think of the song Down on the corner of Creedence Clearwater Revival and try again!
