Description

I could explain the Edison Effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edison_effect), also known as thermionic emission or thermal electron emission, but I know that you, my dear reader, have limited time on this planet, and I, your dear Bobo have limited skills in explaining anything. So follow the Wikipedia link above if you want to know more than the short facts as reported below.

The effect was noted by Thomas Edison on February 13, 1880, while trying to discover the reason for breakage of lamp filaments and uneven blackening (darkest near one terminal of the filament) of the bulbs in his incandescent lamps. This 'discovery' leads to British physicist J A Fleming developing the diode in 1904, and thus so much of the modern world was born.

In recognition of Mr Edison, Mr Fleming, and all the little ships at sea who made our vacuum tubed amps possible, at our Café Van Kleef show, Thursday the 13th, instead of preparing for the night of love to follow on Friday the 14th, Go Van Gogh will add a bit more screaming oomph to our solos, and a bit more crunch to our distortion. However, as always tunefulness, and beauty will be the watch words of each song in all our sets.

Fun starts at 8pm and rolls along till 11. Café Van Kleef has a full bar, and a good collection of draft beers. So bring your thirst to add to our mirth.
