Description
For almost half a century, "Florodora" was in almost continuous production in theaters large and small. Audiences couldn't get enough of the zany plot with its love triangles, perfume formulas, a stolen island -- and even phrenology! -- set to glorious Gilbert & Sullivan-style, music hall, and ragtime-era songs and choruses. But then, in the 1950's, its luster faded, librettos and scores were scattered or lost, and it seemed that Florodora had taken its last bows... until now! Thanks to extensive reconstruction by local researchers, the lights will come up once again on this vintage Broadway gem, semi-staged with salon orchestra, at Mountain View's beautiful Center for the Performing Arts. Two performances only!
