Description

Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses were probably the biggest names to come out of the LA glam metal scene, but there were a ton of other bands scoring record deals alongside them. One of them, Faster Pussycat (a reference to a Russ Meyer film), had all the elements of a successful cock-rock outfit: sleazy, heavy rock & roll riffs, lush vocal harmonies, feathered hair and pants so tight they'd put today's hipsters to shame. It was, however, a ballad that they were most known for: 1989's "House of Pain" (and to a lesser extent, the heavy rocker "Poison Ivy"). The group broke up in '93, but have been on the reunion circuit since 2001. (Aaron Carnes)
