Family Concert Featuring Winners of the 2015 Concerto Movement Competition

Assistant Conductor Lee Actor, Music Director Thomas Shoebotham, and the Palo Alto Philharmonic present the final concert of our 2014-2015 Season: our annual Family Concert, featuring the seven winners of our bi-annual Concerto Movement Competition.

This competition, open to students from the Bay Area of high school age or younger and enabled by the generous support of J. W. and H. M. Goodman, is designed to recognize outstanding talent and provide an invaluable learning experience to music students.

This year, we have seven wonderful young winners, who will each play a concerto movement or a complete short work.
Robert Chien, violin;Vincent Liu, piano;Hesoo Cha, violin;Albert Yamamoto, violin;Jiho Choi, cello;Grace Huh, violin;April Dawn-Yi Chen, piano will be performing works by Sarasate, Prokofiev, Saint-Saens, Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky and Mendelssohn.
