In thrash metal, most folks talk about the "Big Four:" Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax. Often overlooked was the fifth; the Bay Area's own Exodus. With the late Paul Baloff on vocals, Exodus had a notorious reputation early on as one of the craziest shows to be witnessed. They couldn't play anywhere because the venue would get destroyed. They couldn't party anywhere because they'd drink all the booze and obliterate anything in their path, including walls. One story has Baloff dropping a dead rat into the mouth of a passed-out girl. After he was ousted, original guitarist Gary Holt and original drummer Tom Hunting have continually belted out thrash tunes in their finest form, with a new album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition and with a little less destruction.
