Erica Tanov Hosts Andria Crescioni, & Oax-i-fornia Trunk Show

Featuring Handcrafted Jewelry and Accessories, Utilizing Natural Materials, Including Silk Cocoons, Cochineal & Indigo Dyes

WHAT: Meet designer Andria Crescioni, and try on beautiful, unique, nature-inspired handcrafted jewelry by Crescioni and Oax-i-fornia at a Trunk Show hosted by Erica Tanov.

Andria Crescioni's jewelry and leather goods are rooted in traditional craft techniques, inspired by the spirit of the American west and handmade in California. Her aesthetic reflects balance: simple versus bold, rural versus urban, traditional versus innovative, resulting in a modern yet primitive collection which is the synthesis of old and new, the past and present.

Based in Los Angeles, Crescioni came into jewelry by way of fashion. After graduation, she worked with a weaving and sewing cooperative in Peru. She now brings her knowledge of construction and development techniques to a new medium, taking inspiration from the rural desert landscape and the American West, researching methods from Western crafts that she deconstructs and repurposes.

Crescioni's leather goods are hand tooled in-house and manufactured ethically with skilled craftspeople in the Los Angeles area. Her exclusive Palm Collection is made in collaboration with artisans from Oaxaca.

Created by designer Raul Cabra, Oax-i-fornia is a creative collaboration between artisans from Oaxaca, Mexico, and design students. It was originally developed with California College of the Arts (CCA) in San Francisco as an interdisciplinary summer program open to all seniors.

The Oax-i-fornia workshop brings artists and designers into experimental collaborations with artisans in the state of Oaxaca, benefiting local communities and facilitating indelible creative experiences for both visitors and locals. Oax-i-fornia seeks to investigate new methodologies for the use of design and creativity as tools for social change and cultural engagement. Through hands-on making, it aims to establish bonds across cultures. They aim not only to provide material benefits, however, but also to provide local people with tools to continue working on their own and to create their own entrepreneurial spaces.

Oax-i-fornia will feature the Esperanza Silk Cocoon Collection at the trunk show. This collection features silk cocoon floral necklaces, dyed with natural dyes like indigo and cochineal, created by Oax-i-fornia artisans and designers.
