Rosicrucian Egyptian MuseumAncient Egyptian Festival - July 16 and 17, 2011
San Jose, CA - The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum will be hosting its annual Egyptian Epagomenal Festival on Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17. In ancient Egyptian mythology, the calendar included 360 days plus five additional epagomenal days. These epagomenal days were days 'out of time' when the goddesses Isis and Nephthys, and gods Osiris, Seth, and Horus were born. The Egyptians celebrated their birthdays with a grand festival each year.
This park-wide festival will feature special lectures, programs, tomb tours, a costume contest and Senet tournament (win a family membership), as well as children and family activities including a scavenger hunt and ancient Egyptian games.
Epagomenal Festival
Saturday July 16, 2011: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday July 17, 2011: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
