Description

Join Temple Emanu-El in San Jose for the penultimate Diaspora Dinner, the second to last in the 8 year series that has been called one of the best dining experiences in the Bay Area by both the San Jose Mercury News and the San Francisco J. Diaspora Dinner 21 will focus on the rich and evocative history of the Jews of the American South, including stories of Jews who fought on both sides of the Civil War, the story of the Jewish immigration to Galveston, TX and the proud history of the Jews of New Orleans, among many other stories of leadership, hope and occasional ignominy. The multimedia history presentation will be complemented by a 5-course gourmet meal, including dishes that are part of the Southern experience, rearranged to meet the presentation and taste standards set by the Diaspora Dinner team of chefs. A portion of proceeds will go towards the benefit of people put out of work or financially impacted by the BP oil spill.
