Description
"Defending the Caveman" holds the record as the longest running solo play in Broadway history and returns to the Heritage Theatre for the third consecutive year. Why, then, does the noble caveman need defenders, one wonders? He decorated his walls with immortal paintings, he survived, he faced down the mighty mastodon, he paved the way for Cro-Magnon man. But Rob Becker's one-man play isn't about our noble ancestor; it offers instead a wry commentary on the stereotypical behavior of the modern oafish male, who still imagines that turning on the TV is the same as discovering fire, or that tinkering with the car on Sunday is the equivalent of inventing the wheel. It examines the mind-set, morals and manners of the caveman, especially as they relate to the more evolved three m's of the modern female.
