Description
He's controversial, tireless, and an enigma in the world of country music - David Allan Coe is, simply put, a little bit wacky. But we'll forgive him for his seemingly, ummm, politically incorrect releases in the mid '70s, because the singer/songwriter also penned some of the greatest material ever produced by a country artist. 1977's "Take This Job and Shove It" recorded by Johnny Paycheck and the entirety of Coe's 1987 album A Matter of Life and Death are among his best works. Although Coe's career has gone through innumerable peaks and valleys (he once lived in a cave after the IRS possessed his home), the renegade outlaw continues to showcases a more-than-colorful repertoire.
