I've struggled with the Dave Matthews Band since they first rose to stardom in the mid-90's. I want to like them, but I can't get into them. There's nothing bad you can say about their musicianship-in fact, it's almost too good. What's wrong with me that I would rather listen to some crappy punk band that barely knows three chords than a group of guys that have devoted their lives to mastering their craft? Maybe it's just the kind of music they play. Soft rock. Jam band. Jazz fusion. No thank you. Give me songs that are hard, short, and Beatles-inspired.
