Description
On July 25, Friday Nights at the de Young presents the closing reception for July Artists-in-Residence from The Crucible and music by Classical Revolution. The Crucible is an Oakland-based non-profit arts organization that fosters a collaboration of arts, industry, and community. As the July Artists-in-Residence at the de Young, artists from The Crucible have created a public art piece in collaboration with museum visitors. The piece is entitled Unity in Nature and has been inspired by the art of Dale Chihuly. Classical Revolution is a musical collective of some of the Bay Area’s most outstanding young classical musicians. Many of the musicians are recent graduates or current students from the nation’s best conservatories. The evening also features an art-making activity for the entire family in which visitors can make chandeliers inspired by the art of Dale Chihuly and Timothy Horn. The entire museum, including the special exhibition Chihuly at the de Young, is open until 8:45.More Info
