Description
The Jancar Jones Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibit of paintings by San Francisco-based artist, Chris Lux, titled Faux Modernist Posters of Four Letter L Word Nouns. The exhibit will include paintings on paper and canvas, as well as an edition of signed prints and a small edition of t-shirts.

Working with strict self-imposed guidelines as to the subject matter, Lux’s body of Four Letter L Word Nouns begin literally with four letter L words (like “Lava” or “Lice”) which become abstracted into constructions of solid, yet loose, geometric forms. Coming to resemble pre-computer typographic studies, his compositions mimic the qualities of modernist masters, linking the palette of the Fauves with the chaos of Dada.
