Description
One of Kaffe Fassett's mottos is, "Don’t Be Afraid of Colors." Born and raised in San Francisco, Fassett landed in England in 1964. With a BBC TV series in the mid-1980s, he started a cottage industry there. His work in fabric, knitting, needlepoint, patchwork, painting and mosaic brought him the 2013 Turner Medal, which honors Britain’s greatest colorist. In addition to the 15 historic quilts from The Quilters' Guild Collection, York, England, Blanket Statements: New Quilts by Kaffe Fassett includes 20 historically inspired and vibrant designs, which carry on the centuries-old tradition of quilted craftwork.
