Lark and Termite is a winner of the Heartland Prize and was a finalist for the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Prix de Medici Etranger. Jayne Anne Phillips is also a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, two NEA Fellowships, a Bunting Fellowship, the Sue Kaufman Prize, and an Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
