Iranian Activist, Arsham Parsi of IRanian Queer Organization discusses sexuality, politics, refugees and asylum seekers in Iran and Abroad. San Francisco LGBT Community Center, Thursday, June 26, 6:30 – 8:30 PMAs part of Bibi’s outreach to our communities, Bibi|SF will be hosting talks on various issues affecting queer South West Asian, North Africans (aka Middle-Easterners). Our first engagement is with Arsham Parsi of the IRanian Queer Organization on Thursday, June 26 at the SF LGBT Center!
"This is Arsham Parsi, founder and member of board director of IRanian Queer Organization. I should thank you Bibi for supporting us for San Francisco event. The IRanian Queer Organization (IRQO) takes full responsibility for the accuracy and credibility of this information. Today, IRQO is the only active NGO that works on behalf of the Iranian queer (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) population around the world. It documents human rights violations, provides letters of support for Iranian queer asylum seekers and refugees, and supports anti-homophobia efforts. Its documentation is widely respected for its accuracy and credibility. IRQO is registered in Ontario, Canada and is an official member of the following organizations: The Brussels-based International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA), the Stockholm-based International Lesbian and Gay Cultural Network (ILGCN), the Toronto-based Rainbow Railroad group, and the Berlin-based Advisory Committee of the Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation for LGBT Human Rights," said Arsham in an email.
IRQO is an international, non-profit, queer human rights organization based in Toronto, Canada with key workers in Europe and Iran. They help Iranian gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered refugees all over the world. They help when Iranian lesbians or gay men are threatened with deportation back to Iran. They also help Iranian LGBTs (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) obtain asylum in friendly countries.
Please join us as Bibi|SF hosts Mr. Parsi on his US tour. Following his talk, there will be presentation of the CBC documentary “Out in Iran,” and a Q&A session.
Bibi is fiscally sponsored by the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee and recognized as a San Francisco Pride Official Event. Bibi will be hosting its One Year Anniversary & SF Pride Celebration on Friday, June 27.
