Description

Antioquia's fresh approach to rock music will break down barriers using rhythms and melodies from the African diaspora as well as North America. As Adam Leech of the Colorado Springs Independent opined during their recent Midwestern tour, "for fans of complex but danceable rhythms (somewhere along the lines of Mars Volta meets Manu Chau), wherever Antioquia is playing is most definitely the place to be."

The Loyd Family Players style of samba cleverly incorporates elements of hip-hop, funk, heavy metal and dancehall reggae designed to lift the spirits of all who see them to a state of exuberant bliss. Their music was enthusiastically received during New Belgium Brewing Company's recent Tour de Fat and the Loyds, described by SF Weekly as "half band, half bateria, all samba monster," will no doubt be a worthy leader, along with Antioquia, in the love-music-dance revolution.
