Description
During his talk, Dada Maheshvarananda will be sharing positive examples from around the world, pointing out the need for regional economic self-reliance through a locally-based economy of cooperatives. Topics will include sustainable agriculture, ecology, participatory democracy, ethical leadership, and universal spiritual values. Empowering ideas that unite people and transform lives.

Dada is an activist, writer, and monk. For 29 years he taught meditation and yoga and supervised social service projects, in Southeast Asia and South America. He is one of the leading advocates of a fresh concept of economic democratization, known as PROUT, which has garnered wide support among leading thinkers such as Noam Chomsky, Hazel Henderson, Paulo Freire, and Leonard Boff. His recent book, After Capitalism: Prout's Vision for a New World, has been published in seven languages. He has lectured at more than 40 universities and has given hundreds of seminars and workshops around the world.
