Before the holiday season gets too busy and travel plans and shopping take over, a relaxing celebration with friends or family may be necessary. The annual Heritage Holiday Champagne Tea brings back the traditional tea with scones, finger sandwiches, sweets and blends by Satori Tea and champagne by Guglielmo Winery.

The days of dressing up and going out for tea on a Saturday morning are almost forgotten, but the Heritage Holiday Champagne Tea creates a space for the San Jose community to celebrate the holiday in a relaxing environment. Though men are encouraged to attend, event coordinator Juanita Lara said the event is usually attended by women who come with friends and daughters.

The afternoon begins with a champagne cocktail hour with music from a local choir group and a photo booth for guests to capture the moment. After tea and socializing, a tour of the park is provided. History Park is ready for the occasion with each house and lamp post decorated for the holiday season.

The Heritage Holiday Champagne Tea is Dec. 10 from 11am-2pm with tickets $40 for members and $45 for non members at History San Jose.
