If there’s any holiday that would seem to celebrate home cooking, it’s Thanksgiving. But going out for the meal has plenty of attractions, not least for those who might have otherwise hosted this high-pressure holiday meal. Going out to eat on Thanksgiving is already a tradition for some families, and a number of Silicon Valley restaurants have Thanksgiving menus at the ready, giving everyone a pass this year on eating turkey sandwiches for a week and a half after the holiday.

Here’s a sampling of local eateries serving Thanksgiving dinner:

Bistro Vida
Chefs de Cuisine Aly El Safy and Andreas Cisnero will offer a three-course menu that will highlight Thanksgiving classics with French cooking techniques. At $39.95 per person, they describe “the restaurateur’s passion for quality ingredients” as the driving factor behind “putting forth savory and sweet French inspired dishes.”

Faz Sunnyvale
Faz will offer a buffet for brunch, lunch and dinner, which will highlight award-winning chef Faz Poursohi’s distinctive Mediterranean-style cuisine, as well as Thanksgiving classics.  Children 12 and under are $17.95, adults are $38.95, and children under three are free.

Il Fornaio Palo Alto, Il Fornaio San Jose
With both a prix-fix menu and a la carte offerings on Thanksgiving Day in Palo Alto and San Jose, there are many paths to take for Thanksgiving at Il Fornaio. Thanksgiving classics, such as butternut squash soup turkey with gravy and pumpkin pie, will be served along with the restaurant’s usual Italian cuisine . Adults $39, children under 12 $18.

LB Steak Menlo Park, Left Bank Santana Row
Chef Roland Passot’s four-course menu will offer turkey for $50.50 as the main entree. However, it wouldn’t be a classic American Steakhouse without a beef offering, so a rib roast entree option is also available for $58.75.

MacArthur Park
Variety is key for MacArthur’s Thanksgiving menu, which offers a meat carving station, chilled seafood display and a salad station. MacArthur’s house specialties will be offered as well. Adults are $45, kids six to 12 are $24, and kids under six are free.

Maggiano’s San Jose
Maggiano’s isn’t straying far from the traditional turkey with gravy, ham with sweet potatoes, and mashed potatoes with garlic, but the restaurant is also throwing in pasta with meatballs, gnocchi with sausage and ravioli with mushrooms to make its unique Thanksgiving menu. Adults are $36.95 per, children five to 12 are $17.95.

McCormick and Schmicks San Jose
This traditional American surf n’ turf restaurant will serve Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. The restaurant specializes in seasonally available items as well fresh seafood for $24.99 to $28.99. Child’s plates will be available as well.

Menlo Grill Bistro and Bar
At $44 per person, the menu will highlight Thanksgiving favorites with as many fresh and healthy ingredients as possible, all in the upscale setting of the Stanford Park Hotel.

The Plant Cafe
The Plant Cafe in Burlingame—already known for poultry—will serve free-range organic Thanksgiving turkey, with vegan options available as well, for $50.

Reposado, Gravity, Scratch
The chefs from Reposado, Gravity, and Scratch are creating a three course traditional Thanksgiving menu with bits and pieces of each other’s style layered in to each dish. Between Thanksgiving turkey, Mexican-inspired dishes and an oyster bar, the combination of styles will offer tradition as well as variety. All three restaurants will be serving the same menu for $47-$52, based on choice of entree.

Ristorante Don Giovanni
Every year, Ristorante Don Giovanni offers a free Thanksgiving dinner to say thanks to the community of Mountain View. Last year, more than 1,500 people came to eat.
