This four-day Conference builds upon a strong tradition of Book Passage Conferences. We have taken the best of the classes that we have offered in children’s writing & illustration, and put together a Conference that gives authors & illustrators everything they need. The Conference covers all aspects of illustrating & writing for children—from developing ideas and writing skills to finding a publisher. Students work closely with other writers and illustrators, as well as with agents, editors, and publishers. The Conference is designed to meet the differing needs of those who write for different age groups. Students choose an area of interest for the morning sessions—e.g. picture books, early readers, young adult books, illustration—and then work with a teacher on the craft of writing such books. In the afternoons, students choose from panels of common interest, such as marketing and promotion.
