Crossing over Mud Slough

Today Drawbridge is a Ghost Place. The train has not stopped here in decades. Pat Anthony of the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge leads a tour across the Mud Slough into Drawbridge. Pat has been giving Drawbridge tours for 16 years and has some great tales to tell about Drawbridge and its inhabitants - including "friendly ladies."

The first structure on the right is The Recreation, The Precita Gun Club is just beyond. The grayed-out buildings are slowly sinking into the marsh. Soon, there will not be a trace.

Twenty-five cabins or so remain, in varying states of decay. Green pickleweed, marsh grass, and orange dodder are predominant.
