A collaboration between Misho and Johnny Botts combining very different mediums and styles.
Johnny paints playful cartoon robots with a retro sci-fi look and pairs them with rockets, flying saucers, planets, and familiar objects. He uses hard edges and bold colors to tell his stories. Johnny coats much of his work with high gloss epoxy.
Misho photographs areas of rusty, crumbling, or moss- covered walls, gritty cement sidewalks. He finds beauty in objects and places that others might not notice. Printed at large scale, his photographs encourage exploration of details.
Misho and Johnny have selected images from Misho’s collection and brainstormed ideas for subjects. Misho printed the selected photographs, and Johnny painted directly on them. The result is a series of pieces that draw each artist into a new area for exploration.
